Paolo Panizza

Paolo Panizza is a Theatre Director, Actor and Performer based in Milan. He studied acting at Stella Adler Studio of Acting in NYC and in Milan with Mattia Giorgetti (associate director at SCOT company) and Lara Franceschetti (UBU prize with Vassili’ev). He also studied with Jurij Alschitz in Berlin. He worked as actor in many theatre productions, including "Terror and Misery of the Third Reich" by Brecht, directed by Fabio Cherstich, at Teatro Franco Parenti in Milan. He participated in Ana Sanchez-Colberg’s project “Love letters to Ana”, which has been selected for inclusion in the exhibition Coantivirus curated by NY20+ Nongyuan Culture in Chengdu, Sichuan, China. His cinema credits include “Che vuoi che sia” by Edoardo Leo, produced by Warner Bros Pictures. His works as Director include: "Wahrheit Macht Frei”, “Ajax: how to stage a suicide (?)”, “Qualcuno deve morire” and inside the 2021 CPPM Manifestal International Festival in Tallinn he directed “Pour Toi”. Paolo also worked for Opera as an assistant director for James Conway (English Touring Opera) for "Alcina" by Handel. In 2021 he is finalist (co-director with Agnes Oberauer) in an international open call for a Site-Specific Performance  at Venice Biennale 2021.
